Article marketing builds links

If you are doing business on the Internet you know how important it is to get links to your site, and there are several ways to get those links. The most obvious way is to exchange links with other related sites. So you contact the webmaster and ask them if you can exchange links and they put up yours and you put up theirs and you repeat those steps over and over.

Only problem is those links don’t count as much as one-way incoming links. Those are the kind listed on a website which is referring to you without you having to link to them. Search engines take this as a sign that you must be offering some sort of value because the referring website is sending visitors your way.

But there’s an even easier way to get incoming links to your site, it’s called article marketing. Article marketing is simply writing articles about subjects related to your website or blog and submitting them to article marketing sites, like EZineArticles.com, ArticlesBase.com or Buzzle.com.

Those sites list your article and it usually gets pretty good ranking in the search engines, at least in the case of EZine Articles.com which is one of the more popular submission sites. It’s free to submit your site and you can list your link at the bottom in the author box. Other people can also use your article on their website, provided they keep your author info. So if someone uses your article you get another link without having to do anything but put out good, valuable information.

Here’s where it gets better. You may already have a great supply of articles to market and you don’t even know it. If you have a blog chances are you can use your old blog posts, rewrite them so that they are different from the original and then submit them.

If that still seems like more work than you can manage with your busy schedule, you can hire the job out to a person you hire to write a set number of articles each month or just to write a piece or two every now and again.

Either way, don’t forget to include your link in the article and get ready to watch your incoming links stack up.
