Ah, the About page, that inocuous little subject that seems so easy to explain but in all actuality, is perhaps one of the most difficult. Philosophers have grappled with this concept: “I think therefore I am,” “All we are is dust in the wind,” “I am what I am and that’s all that I am.”
What I am, or rather who I am, is Shelly Cone. In short, I tell stories. Usually, funny stories but not always. I’m a humor writer, I write for humor blogs and funny blogs as well as serious news media fare.
For those of you who like credentials, try this on for size: I’ve been a journalist for longer than I care to remember, I’m equal parts ADD and OCD, a major smart ass, a Star Wars fan girl, a total beach bum and I have a major crush on Art Alexakis of Everclear, David Beckham of the L.A. Galaxy and Chris Cornell of, well, All that is Great in the World. You can tell my husband that, it’s OK, he already knows.
I have a tendency toward run-on sentences, can’t cook, a penchant for starting multiple all-consuming projects at once, oh, and I also have a annoying habit of peppering my writing with obsure Star Wars references.
